Strangers Beware! Kids Fight Back with Ed The Elephant™
July 22, 2004 -- ChildGuard America™, LLC, developer of Ed The Elephant™, a revolutionary child safety character, and Dalmation Press™, LLC, Nashville, Tennessee, a world leader in children's book publishing announced that they have entered into a licensing agreement for the production of an entertaining child safety activity and coloring book featuring Ed The Elephant™, a cartoon character that teaches children the importance of safety and stranger awareness. The book will be available at most Wal-Mart™ stores across the country late this summer, just in time for the beginning of the school year.
There are over 45 million children under the age of 12 in the United States according to census figures. It is estimated that over one million children each year are reported lost or missing here in North America. Most are found alive and unharmed, but there is a staggering amount of children that are never found, or found with tragic results.
"We selected Dalmation Press™ because of their outstanding reputation in the book publishing industry. Anyone who has ever bought a book for a child will certainly recognize the Dalmation Press™ logo. With their awesome distribution channels, and fantastic creative team, we felt that it was a perfect fit for us to get the message out," said Bart Casper, President of ChildGuard America™. "This is a tremendous opportunity for both companies to work together to promote parent involvement, and help empower and teach children utilizing what they love best: cartoons. We don't know of any time in recent history where a child safety cartoon character was developed and marketed at the retail level. Our goal is to have all children identify with Ed, and learn from him. He is an important tool that will help parents discuss with their child a topic that can be difficult to talk about."
